Air-Cooled Aftercoolers

air-cooled aftercoolers

When air is compressed, it is heated as high as 350 degrees, which vaporizes and thus suspends water. An aftercooler cools compressed air down to within 15 degrees above ambient temperature, substantially reducing water & other contaminants in your air supply. In effect, water will be reduced by 50% for every 20 degree reduction in temperature, typically resulting in up to a 65% reduction of water in in your air system.

  • Performance based on 250-degrees inlet air temperature, all models.
  • Maximum operating pressure 250 PSIG, all models.
  • Maximum operating temperature 350 degree F., all models.

Left : Each box represents moisture present in 1-cubic foot of air at atmospheric pressure.

Right: Now 12-cubic feet of air at atmospheric pressure is reduced to 1-cubic foot of air when compressed to 160 PSI. This 1-cubic foot of air now contains 12 times the moisture.
